One bottle, closure or pouch rarely represents every operating condition. A useful sample set should include the smallest and largest formats, the least stable container, the most difficult closure, the widest label and any product variation that changes viscosity, foaming, dusting, particle size or temperature. Where packaging is sourced from more than one supplier, include normal manufacturing variation rather than only ideal samples. This allows the machinery review to focus on the real changeover window and the combinations most likely to cause handling problems.

Record which formats share tooling and which require change parts. Note any limits that are already known, such as a narrow bottle neck, flexible side wall, offset handle, tamper-evident band, transparent label, low-friction container or powder that bridges in a hopper. Photographs and drawings help with early review, but physical samples and production product are normally more reliable where dosing, sealing, torque or label application must be demonstrated.

Explain how product is prepared and transferred, how containers and closures are presented, what checks are made, where rejects occur and how finished packs leave the area. Then define the result in observable terms: the required fill presentation, closure condition, label position, code readability, seal appearance, pack stability and changeover outcome.
